St. Januarius

St. Januarius was a courageous and faithful bishop who lived during the Diocletian Persecutions and was martyred for his faith. He was initially thrown to beasts, but the beasts refused to attack him! He was then martyred by beheading. He is the patron against volcanic eruptions, blood banks, and blood donors.

Simple ways to observe the Feast:

  1. Go to Mass
  2. Pray the Divine Office
  3. Learn why St. Januarius is the patron of volcanoes and blood donors

Ember Friday

Today, is Ember Friday. The suggested fasting (if you are able) is 2 small meals and 1 regular meal. We are to abstain from meat to remember Jesus' suffering on the cross on Good Friday.
